Thermotherapy

  • Cryotherapy: ice packs, ice massage, ice compresses, cryo baths
  • Machine cryotherapy
  • Surface heat: hot wraps, body heating pads, thermal radiation
  • Paraffin baths, wraps
  • Deep warming: ultrasound, RF
  • Fango, Parafango
  • Algae compresses
  • Infrared light
  • Sauna

Manual therapy

  • Medical/Swedish massage
  • Sports massage
  • Tui-na massage
  • Shiatsu massage
  • Hot stone massage using hot volcanic stones
  • Reflexology massage
  • Acupressure
  • Brushing massage
  • Aroma massage
  • Anti-cellulite massage
  • Dr. Vodder’s lymph drainage
  • Machine lymph drainage – pressotherapy: SORIMED, VASOFLOW

Kinesiotherapy

Kinesiotherapy is a type of medical gymnastics (Greek: kinesis– movement, therapeia– treatment) that uses movement to treat a diseased or injured body part or person. Exercises are conducted individually or in groups.

The following are the basic types of exercises:

  1. Range of motion exercises
  2. Muscle strengthening exercises/strength exercises: isotonic, isokinetic and isometric
  3. Endurance exercises: aerobic and anaerobic
  4. Conditioning exercises

Given the way the patients are involved, the exercises are conducted:

  • Passively
  • Actively
  • Actively assisted: active independently and actively against resistance

Other exercises:

  • Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) exercises
  • Post-isometric relaxation (PIR) exercises
  • Stabilization exercises
  • Proprioception exercises
  • Balance exercises
  • Coordination exercises
  • Walking exercises
  • Posture exercises
  • Stretching exercises
  • Plyometric exercises
  • Open kinetic chain exercises (OKC)
  • Closed kinetic chain exercises (CKC)
  • Exercises on an isokinetic dynamometer (BIODEX system)
  • Medical fitness
  • Individual training with a personal trainer
  • Hydrotherapy– Exercises in the sea and a swimming pool
  • Exercises in nature, on promenades, or on the seashore

Traction

Traction is the application of mechanical force that helps achieve separation of joint surfaces, stretches the surrounding soft tissues, relaxes the muscles and reduces intervertebral disc protrusions.
Traction (decompression therapy or distraction) is a non-surgical way of treating the spine and joints

Traction types:

  • Manual
  • 3D spinal decompression treatment
  • Cervical and lumbar spine traction system / Vertetrac
  • Inversion table
  • Self traction

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy implies the use of electric current for therapeutic purposes.

  • Galvanic currents, Iontophoresis
    (constant direct current)
  • Diadynamic currents
    (low-frequency currents)
  • Interferential currents
    (medium-frequency alternating current)
  • Microcurrent therapy (CACI, BIMED)
  • FREMS / Frequency rhythmic electrical modulation system
  • TENS/ Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation Therapy
  • Electrostimulation of the nerves and muscles

Magnetotherapy

The therapeutic effect of magnetotherapy (low intensity non-thermal effect) has an anti-inflammatory, anti-oedemous effect and affects tissue regeneration and repair. It reduces pain in various acute and chronic conditions, and is used in locomotor system injuries, rheumatic diseases, postoperative rehabilitation and upper and lower motor neuron disorders.

 Ultrasound therapy

Ultrasound therapy (Latin: ultra– over, sonus– sound) is the use of ultrasonic mechanical energy for therapeutic purposes. Continuous or impulse therapeutic ultrasound has a documented beneficial biological effect (thermal and non-thermal). It elevates the pain threshold and reduces the perception of pain, improves microcirculation, induces muscular relaxation, and contributes to tissue regeneration. Recent research suggests that it stimulates cell proliferation and proteoglycan production, which has a significant impact on the biological repair of the intervertebral spinal discs.

Phototherapy or light therapy

  • Laser
  • Infrared radiation
  • Ultraviolet radiation

Radio Frequency (RF)

Radio frequency is a controlled deep warming of the skin using a probe. It leads to increased muscle tone and tissue elasticity, cell metabolism improvement, as well as fibroblast activation and generation of new collagen. Radiofrequency successfully reduces cellulite and localized fatty deposits, removes stretch marks and acne, and it can be used to successfully perform breast tightening and non-surgical face and neckline lifting.

Hypobaric therapy / VACUSAC

HBT or VACUSAC therapy is one of the most effective therapeutic procedures that can be used for preventive, therapeutic and aesthetic purposes.

It is based on the application of pulse modifications of stronger and weaker subpressures which are lower than the mean atmospheric pressure, and it improves the arterial, venous and lymphatic circulation with a detoxification effect.

  • Body, arms, legs

Natural factors

During the therapy, the influence of a mild Mediterranean climate with a special and favourable microclimatic destination factor is used, in the form of staying by the seashore, exercising in the sea and on the coast and sand, and doing various activities in the sea, air and nature.

  • Climatotherapy
  • Thalassotherapy
  • Air baths
  • Psamotherapy

Other methods

  • Acupuncture
  • Mesotherapy
  • Aromatherapy
  • Cupping therapy
  • Taping
